COSMELAN ® - How it works

COSMELAN ® is a safe, simple and non-surgical treatment, which improves the quality of your skin.

Compared to other peels, which remove unwanted skin through an acidic application, COSMELAN ® inhibits the skin from forming melanin, which causes brown spots and darkening of the skin.

Cosmelan ® Procedures

Dr. Susan Davoodifar will first evaluate your skin type to match the treatment to your specific situation.

First, a cleanser will remove all the dead cells and old debris. The Cosmelan Peel is then applied and left on for 8-12 hours depending on your skin type. For patient comfort, you are allowed to go home with the mask on.

After the procedure time has elapsed, you can remove the mask with a neutral cleanser and water and cover the treatment area with a soothing cream.

For the first two weeks, you are required to apply the Cosmelan 2 cream 2-3 times a day, then once a day after. For best results, daily use of the cream is recommended.

Dr. Davoodifar will schedule follow up appointments as needed.

Cosmelan ® Results

Cosmelan Peel results can usually be seen within a week of the initial treatment. However, the full effect requires a bit more time.

A healthy glow of your rejuvenated skin can be seen within 2-3 weeks, and a dramatic reduction of brown spots in 4-6 weeks.
